Time is on my side

I'm not sure why, but I have a thing for clocks. Certain ones appeal to me and I have to buy them. Fortunately, they usually aren't very expensive ones, just ones that I like the looks of. There are only so many places you can logically hang a clock in one's house, so I painted a grid on one of my office walls in order to display them.
I have this one hanging at the end of our hallway, but I think this is a temporary location.
And this poor guy is just stuck in the corner of the living room. I know it want it hung in there, but haven't figured out where yet.
I was thrift store hopping today, but not for myself this time, I promise! I am trying to find some large print Reader's Digest magazines for my stepmom to read while she sits with my dad who is undergoing chemotherapy. I struck out there, but I did find this. I have a few ideas kicking around for it. I just hope it works. Note to self: start carrying a AA battery around to test thrift store clocks. Also, I sure hope the pictures included are the stock photos that come with frames, etc, and not some little boy whose family couldn't even bother to remove his photos before they donated the clock that he was displayed on. Sometimes I'll come across collage frames with the photos left in place, and it always seems kind of sad to me.
While I was at Value Village I heard Pinch Me, by Barenaked Ladies. The last time I was there I heard Its All Been Done, by the same band. Its like VV wants me to shop there!

After I left VV I headed down the street to Goodwill. Some of the things there are kind of expensive, much more than I'd pay for thrift store goods. I'm wondering if GW has picked up on the "repurposing" fad and jacked the prices up on the wicker baskets and candle holders that soccer moms buy to spray paint and make new again.
